Fortune teller or unemployed military interrogator?

I went to a fortune teller this week on my lunch break. It seemed like a good idea at the time. When you are in a transition period in your life, one usually turns to a) religion or b) the supernatural. I chose b. Always a skeptic, and a fortune teller virgin, curiosity killed me when a friend suggested it. (more…)

I promise not to join facebook ever – never ever. I promise not to write about the facebook phenomenon. Ooops. I posted my best picture, even update my status occasionally, look at photos posted by so called friends, look up past boyfriends. Reading his memoir at the moment – or the closest thing to it. Dirk thoughtfully picked it up for me after his death ironically intrigued my interest in his work. I love social commentary, contradiction – anything about the human condition. John Irving, Tom Robinson come close. Mark Twain. They are all able to dissect the complexity of life and break it down into something very sad yet absolutely hilarious – the truth essentially. (more…)
